The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency is ubiquitous. Severe disease can present very dramatically and be misleading to the treating physician, resulting in mismanagement. A high index suspicion vulnerable patients should help circumvent this problem, including a thorough history physical examination lead clinician right direction. Insidious onset progressive proximal pelvic girdle myopathy, absence other neurological findings, appropriate patient prompt physician test for serum 25 hydroxyvitamin levels. literature on endocrine myopathy does not highlight condition as much it thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal aetiologies.
